Teaching Objectives

The faculty considers the cultivation of excellent occupational therapy practitioners as the most important teaching goal. Graduates of the School could work as clinicians, educators, administrators and researchers in the occupational therapy profession. Therefore, our teaching emphasizes the training of professional abilities, practice of research projects and nature of administrative concepts. The faculty and students work closely with affiliated hospitals in order to combine education and clinical practice, and to enhance the quality of patient care as well.For graduate program, the Department lists several research directions, including:

Areas of Research Development

Based on the specialties and requirements of social as well as medical development, the areas of academic research development of our department include: assessment and studies on the neuro-physio-psychologic functions, studies on the occupational movement analysis, assessment and studies on the occupational rehabilitation issues, the development and application of the rehabilitative engineering in occupational therapy, evaluation and studies of the occupational therapy issues on the children, adolescent and geriatrics, assessment and studies of the occupational therapy on the chronic diseases, assessment and studies of the occupational therapy on the specific issues, such as newborn occupational therapy, administrative management on the occupational therapy and investigations regarding clinical quality assurance…etc. The faculties actively participate in the research projects which are granted from National Science Council, Department of Health, Execute Yuan, ROC, Council of Labor Affairs and other juridical association/foundations and also present the research achievements in the domestic, international conferences and scientific journals.
